A blank, missing, or misaligned Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) is a common technical grievance. Fortunately, resolving guide issues usually comes down to three straightforward adjustments.
1. Time Offset and Time Zone Incompatibilities
If your guide displays programme names accurately but the timetable is shifted by 1 or 2 hours (e.g. an evening 8:00 PM drama displays at 6:00 PM), your device and the EPG server have a time zone discrepancy.
How to Fix:
- Open your IPTV player's settings menu (e.g. TiviMate
Settings > EPG). - Locate EPG Time Offset.
- Adjust the offset by
+1,-1,+2, or-2hours until the on-screen timetable matches real UK GMT/BST local time.
2. EPG Data Needs a Manual Force-Refresh
Most IPTV players cache EPG data locally for 24 to 48 hours to conserve bandwidth. If your provider pushed an updated schedule, your app might still be displaying expired cached data.
How to Fix:
- In your player settings, navigate to EPG Sources and select Update EPG Now or Clear and Update EPG.
- Allow the progress bar to complete 100% before returning to the guide.
3. Storage Space Exhaustion
A full 7-day EPG for thousands of international channels can consume 200MB to 500MB of storage. If your Firestick or Smart TV has less than 200MB of free internal space, it will fail to unpack and store the XML database. Free up space by deleting unused applications, then update the guide.
